Do You Know How To Defeat The Browser Hijacker ?

Your browser now has a new start page and a new search
page. Every time your browser loads a page that doesn’t
exist, you end up at some strange site, probably filled
with popup ads or worse – pornography. Nothing you do, from
resetting the home page in your options menu to rebooting
your machine gets rid of the problem.

If you’re really unlucky, the first new page you try to
load has called up so many pop ups that your machine will
virtually lock up until professionally serviced.

Browser hijacking is a very real and annoying problem. If
the hijacker program starts sending you off to pornography
websites – there’s a real chance it might have caused
pornography to be downloaded onto your hard drive. Porn on
a work computer has the potential to get your into real
trouble.

Spyware, the generic term for software that installs itself
and records your movements, information and other bits to
send back to its source, is a general nuisance. Browser
hijacking is a form of spyware that subverts your browser
settings and leaves you in a bind. If you don’t have
something that can prevent or at least detect and reset it,
you could be in for some trouble.

Many savvy users who discover the problem find it very
difficult to repair. Critical files like “Internet Options”
are missing from the control panel of the operating system.
So, now it’s time to sort through the various .dll files or
.ini file extensions – looking for a configuration that was
altered.

Next, the person experiencing the problem becomes so
frustrated that they delete their browser and try to
reinstall or the worst yet, completely reformat the hard
drive – convinced that it is irreparable.

Well, reformatting will work – but only until the hijack
software has been downloaded once more from wherever it was
retrieved from in the first place. Most anti-spyware
software contains code for detecting and removing browser
hijackers; it requires activation of the software to detect
it for some programs. Other pay versions include real time
blockers that will actually prevent a browser hijacker from
installing itself.

Unfortunately, spyware and its associated brethren are here
to stay. The best defense is to employ protection that will
guard against unexpected software additions and installs.
Hijacking your browser may not seem as criminal as a virus
that eats files, but if you’ve ever experienced your
browser being hijacked, then you’re aware with the
frustration it causes.

The Unborn and Cloning

The Unborn

With all this cloning in the news one can’t help but to treat himself to the human embryo side of the moon, I mean: womb; it’s just brings me back to old news days 20 to 25-years ago. Not sure how far we’ve come, where we are going, and for the most part, where we are at. And like most people you take a stand, be it black, white for gray. And as I indicated in my last article, or one of them, I’m a bit confused on the whole subject. And this is what I think the majority on the left wants; confusion makes you produce doubt, and they all like to play with our doubts do they not; for their betterment, and not for our best interest of course.

Since I did a here and now article a few days ago in the Cloning area, maybe I can find some loose threads of the past to weave into my web. I think we’ve all been told, though mostly overlooked for convenience, six week old fetus’ have human faces, formulated; as it may be termed: germination has taken place. And I remember when embryos as young as 4-weeks old were of top news, old crap now. And simply because the embryos float around like mini-fish in the watery void of its mother’s womb, lidless eyes you might add, or unblinking, and it only being an inch-long or thereabouts, but it just is waiting for the paramount growth process, which is simply weeks away, somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks. But of course this is not touched on much now days, is it? And for good reason: we live in an emotional body, and our system cannot take such reality.

Before I go on, I will be a little hypocritical: if stem cell research could prolong my life (and it was offered) I’d tell the doctor next door, shoot the serum in me, or the operation. On the other hand, would I vote for my tax money to be spent in this area on research and development? No more than the one-sided abortion clinics. If the doctor said, “I could have saved your life had you allowed stem cell research to continue (cloning research progress in essence),” I’d so, well, that is life, if it’s time to go, it’s fine with me, we all die, some sooner and some later, this is a well understood fact, we just don’t think about it today, put it off for tomorrow, then we are laying in the hospital bed, at 70 or 80 or 90 saying: I’m actually here, I’m old. But old people die; it is how it was planned. If we want to live longer, stop the wars, poverty and thievery. So I’m not too hypocritical, just logical, and faith bound.

A few abortions are terminated because of abnormalities of the embryo development, not sure if this should be linked to my article, but it seems to float right into my neurological system, or is it psychological makeup, so easily. Anyhow, thus, pregnancies are terminated; I call it one life for another, or perhaps, too much work thereafter. Right or wrong, the health issue is a strong one, as is stem cell research, both dealing with prolonging life physically and/or psychologically (and perhaps a longer visit with our loved ones). But if you don’t have it together with them now, you will always be on the ‘too late,’ side).

But I do believe we are not the Rhesus monkey, although primate research may think so. So I see on the horizon the gates being opened to health science more as we fall down the spaghettlike-tubs, which will be the judges of the future, who will determine our destiny. Not sure if we are going backwards or frontward in our labor’s of love.

A Simple and Powerful Lean Manufacturing Tool – 5S

A key feature in lean manufacturing is its simplicity. Simple techniques are used to get to the ultimate goal of lean manufacturing, very effectively and efficiently. One major aspects of lean manufacturing is small continuous improvement which is greatly helped with this concept.

One such simple and powerful tool used in lean manufacturing is 5S. This technique is described as the starting point of the lean manufacturing implementation in many organizations. Significant savings on time, space and reduced defects, reduces accidents and pleasant working environment are direct results of 5S.

5S can be simply explained as follows. 5S simply identifies the necessary things and unnecessary things from your work environment, then it sorts them and discards the unnecessary. Then the things which are required are kept in order so that using them will be easy. In the third step all the areas will be cleaned. When these are in process for sometime, it is the time to standardize the process and the above practices. Good practices in the first three steps will be implemented organization wide so that everyone will operate in the same way. This is the standardization phase of the implementation. When this is done you will need to adhere to this 5S culture. 5S way of life will become standard and everyone will now not feel they have implemented something called 5S, but they will work accordingly.

Dehydrate Vegetables for Long Life

Drying or dehydrating vegetables is one of the oldest known methods of food preservation. The really great thing about it is that you can do it at home with equipment you have on hand.

You should pick your produce at it’s peak and work as quickly as you can to preserve its colour and taste.

Prepare your vegetables as if you were going to serve them. Wash them well, trim, cut, chop, slice, whatever. Thickness will play an important role in how long your veggies take to dehydrate, so bear that in mind when preparing.

Next you must blanch the vegetables. This will preserve the colour and flavour of the vegetable. Most vegetables have an enzyme that, left active, is what makes it spoil so quickly. Blanching the vegetables stops the enzyme action.

Follow available guidelines for blanching (available at www.no-dig-vegetablegarden.com). Once blanched, chilled and drained, you are ready to dry or dehydrate your vegetables for long
term storage.

The Rules

Of course, there are heaps of rules…but let’s start here.

There are three methods used to dry or dehydrate vegetables.
Sun dried, commercial dehydrator or oven.

Sun drying is the least reliable method for areas with variable temperatures. Unless you live in a climate that is a consistent 90F with low humidity for a guaranteed 3 days in a row, you risk your produce.

Once the drying starts, it cannot stop until finished. So DO NOT let your vegetables cool again until they’re done. Having said that, lots of places do have that sort of weather…but more places don’t, so sun drying is a bit of a gamble for most.

You can purchase food dehydraters in a range of sizes, but unless you are going to be doing an awful lot of this, it’s probably better to wait or buy one with a group of friends to pass around. They aren’t very expensive, but they are usually used for quite short periods of time.

So, we’re left with the oven. It’s almost certain that you have one, so nothing new to buy. It is time consuming and a little fiddly, but it’s such a great result!

Oven drying

A home oven will only dry small quantities at a time (up to six pounds of produce, depending on the number of racks you have) so don’t be preparing bushells of veggies at a time!

Set the oven at the lowest temperature and preheat to 140F (60C). If you are uncertain of the temperature, put a separate oven thermometer on a rack you can see. Check your temperature
every half hour or so.

Lay out your vegetables on stainless steel screen mesh or wooden
frames covered in cheescloth. Do NOT use cookie sheets as the
air must circulate around the food. Having the food sit next to
metal sheets may also transfer a metalic taste. Using other
types of metal materials may react with the food so please don’t.

Load up the veggies. Doing trays of items similar in size will keep the drying even. For instance, doing pumpkin, carrot and
potato might be a good mix. Try not to mix strong flavoured items as the flavour may transfer from one vegetable to another.

Keep the oven door open about 3 inches or so during drying. It is vital that the temperature is maintained at 140F (60C) and that the moist air can escape. Move the trays around frequently to ensure even drying. No oven has even heat throughout.

Keep a close eye on your drying vegetables. Don’t let them scorch and keep them moving.

Depending on the vegetable you are drying it will take between
4 and 12 hours to dry. Once they’re done, the vegetable pieces
will be hard and should shatter if hit with an instrument.

Store in a water tight container. To use, just add them to soups and sauces as they are, or reconstitute (cover them in a container with water 2:1 ratio) for approximately 2 hours before using.
