My oldest daughter is taking spanish again. She has taken it before but over the last two years she took latin and italian as well. Now a junior in high school she has come back to spanish and is having a hard time. She came to me the other day and showed me a product that you can order that works as an english to spanish translator for your computer. You speak into a microphone in english and the computer program repeats it back to you in spanish. She feel this would be very helpful for her to be able to hear proper enunciation of the spanish words.

This is not my job so to speak but I have been fluent in spanish my entire life and I speak english too. I was asked by my son’s spanish travel club to chaperon a trip to Spain to act as an english to spanish translator. How fun is that! I was thrilled at the idea of going on that glorious trip and helping the kids communicate better. They would of course find people who spoke english as well as understand it but I would be their backup and I would get to go on the trip at the student rate.
