Worldwide Mobile Users to Reach Six Billion by 2013: GSMA

GSMA, the organization comprising of most major companies from the mobile industry has said that the mobile user base worldwide is going to hit 6 billion by 2013. The statistic revealed by the Wireless Intelligence Unit of GSMA projects a very strong growth for the industry in the next few years. The current user base stands at 4 billion – an astonishing achievement by itself.

GSMA has also revealed that mobile broadband connections the world over have also reached a major landmark of hundred million subscribers. Mobile broadband is a major growth driver for the overall mobile internet industry and as consumers flock towards broadband products such as the USB dongle, netbooks, and mobile Internet devices, it is getting clearer that this is one segment of the market that is going to grow stronger with time.

Mr. Michael O’Hara, who is the chief marketing officer of GSMA is also of the view that mobile broadband will keep taking the industry forward with Mobile Planet and Mobile Lifestyle being the other two areas with huge potential.

GSMA is holding the Mobile World Congress, and this year the key topic of discussion is going to be the economic situation and Long Term Evolution, the upcoming technology that promises to revolutionise mobile communication.

What to Expect from Judges at Science Fairs

Before you begin your science fair project, you need to keep in mind that the fair is in essence a competition. You need to be aware of what the judges will be looking for when they view your projects. With a little forethought and awareness, you can turn an ok project with an average display into the first place winner.

You have heard the term that first impressions mean the most in reference to people. Well it applies to your science project display as well. A neat, tidy display that is well labeled is best. Not too wordy, but enough information so that they don’t leave your table without any questions. Progress photos, diagrams or charts that depict your findings are always helpful. Most people are visual. It is one thing to read about it, it is another to see it with your own eyes. Make sure your display board and area are clean and not cluttered. Nothing should take away from your project.

If your science fair project involves giving a demonstration, practice it at home at least three times. You want it to run smoothly. You want the judges to know that you know what you are doing. Make sure you can answer any and all questions and that you know how to use all the tools with skill. Judges want to walk away from your experiment feeling like you are an expert on the subject.

Another thing that judges love is data, data and more data. They want to know what your theory was and if you proved it, how can you prove that it is true. If you disproved it, then what did you find? Perhaps what you discovered by disproving the theory was even more fascinating than the original theory.

So, what you need to keep in mind is that you are the expert, you have data to prove it and you can show it, prove it or demonstrate in a neat and concise manner. Above all this, have fun with the project and at the fair. If you are nervous and uncertain, it will show. You need to have confidence and be proud of all your hard work. It is your brainstorm, so show it with pride.

Two Natural Cures That Baffled American Doctors!

Copyright 2005 Robert Fioravante

Did you know that food allergies are being permanently eliminated with a natural, energy-based treatment that takes minutes to administer. Also, emotionally crippling phobias are being cured in one simple and painless session. Both treatments have a documented success rate of about 80% and scientific research to support their effectiveness. Have mainstream American doctors commented on these astounding results? Perhaps they’ll comment when they are done anxiously scratching their heads!

American physicians are perplexed by these treatments because Western medicine focuses on the chemical nature of the human body. Conversely, Eastern health practitioners (from East and Southeast Asia) have focused on energy meridians for thousands of years. They understand there is a vital energy system in the body that is separate from the cardiovascular and nervous system. This ancient theory views illness, allergies, and even negative emotions as blockages along the body’s vital energy meridians.

The Allergy Cure

Most Americans are unfamiliar with energy-based medicine so we’ll need to stretch our thinking for a moment. Consider a treatment where you hold an allergen in your hand while receiving a special type of spinal adjustment. About 24 hours later, after following some simple instructions, your allergy is gone! This amazing treatment, called NAET, was discovered in the mid 1970’s by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, a chiropractor and acupuncturist from California. Dr. Devi detailed this breakthrough approach in her book, Say Goodbye to Illness, after she began successfully using it with patients in 1986.

According to NAET, when we encounter an allergen our immune systems react in a way that inflames and destroys healthy tissue. This inflammatory response creates a blockage in one of our meridians and thereby prevents the normal flow of vital energy. Thus an allergy develops. NAET unblocks the flow of energy and trains the body to accept the previously allergic substance.

NAET practitioners report a success rate of between 80% and 90%, where allergy symptoms are successfully eliminated. Moreover, Dr. Devi has established a research foundation which found that about 2/3 of all patients experienced a resolution of their allergy symptoms within 15 to 25 visits. In my personal experience with NAET, I have usually needed only one treatment to eliminate an allergy and I’ve had over 50 different allergies completely resolved! Visit: http://www.naet.com

The Cure for Phobias and Other Emotional Problems

In order to help people with negative emotions and traumatic memories, the psychiatric profession typically has patients undergo therapy for months or even years. Sadly, many patients make little or no progress. Fortunately, a radical departure from traditional psychiatry would change these dismal results.

EFT, or the Emotional Freedom Technique, is based on the work of Dr. Roger Callahan, a California psychologist who relieved people of negative emotions by treating the body’s energy meridians. Gary Craig developed EFT, which purports that “the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.” Does this sound far fetched? Consider the Nei Ching, a central classic of Chinese medicine, which states that illness may be caused by negative emotions that are excessive or powerfully invoked; thus emotion can disrupt the normal flow of vital energy.

EFT does not view emotions as the “cause” of emotional trauma the way traditional psychiatry does. EFT considers a blockage in the body’s energy meridian as the cause of trauma and it get impressive results by doing so. The procedure is simple: while focusing on their problem, patients tap (with the fingertips) precise points on their energy meridians, thereby releasing blockages that held their negative emotions in place. The procedure is repeated until no trace of the negative emotion is present. The results are astounding and have changed people’s lives in minutes.

Gary Craig claims his treatment has successfully eliminated stress, asthma, grief, phobia, anger, migraines, and even ADHD. Many clinical studies have been completed which back-up Craig’s claims. We recommend you go to the EFT site and download the free instruction manual in order to better understand this approach. Better yet, take a look at the EFT videos that show real patients eliminating debilitating emotional problems quickly and painlessly: Visit: http://www.emofree.com

Planning a Wedding in the Hawaiian Islands

The Hawaiian Islands are very beautiful and romantic place. If you are planning on getting married or renewing your wedding vows while in the Hawaiian Islands it is best to plan and make reservations for as much as your wedding as possible prior to your arrival so once you arrive in Hawaii you can just relax and enjoy yourself. Hawaii offers very unique and beautiful places to pledge your love, you are only limited by your own imagination! Things to consider when planning your dream Hawaiian wedding:

* Where do you want the ceremony to take place? Traditional locations- church, on the beach, in a botanical garden. Non-Traditional locations- top of Diamond Head, scuba diving, sky diving, in a rain forest next to a waterfall, what ever you can think of.

* Which island would you like to get married on? Each island is very beautiful and romantic but no two islands are the same.

* What do you want to wear? Some brides & grooms wear traditional tuxes and wedding dresses where others wear Aloha attire or even bathing suits. Usually the location sets the tone for the attire.

* What kind of flowers do you want? Some brides & grooms have traditional boutonniere and bouquets where others wear traditional Hawaiian fresh flower neck and head leis.

* Do you want to incorporate a traditional Hawaii lei blessing and lei exchange? A lei exchange between the wedding couple can be incorporated to symbolize their Aloha (love) and commitment to one another.

* If getting married on a beach do you want to incorporate a sand ceremony? A sand ceremony combines a bit of sand from under each of the wedding couples feet and combines it into a small keepsake bottle. It symbolizes the joining of the two as one.

* Do you want a Hawaiian band or hula dancers at your wedding?

* Do you want to release doves or butterflies at your wedding?

* If you have a photographer do you want just photos of the wedding or do you want to have photos taken at several locations?

* Does the bride want to visit a beauty salon for nail, makeup, and/or hair services?

* Do you want a limousine or a horse drawn carriage? Where do you want your transportation to take you? (to and from ceremony, to photo locations, island tour)

* How do you want to enjoy your wedding night? (a reception, in your room, at a luau)

Once married many there are many fun and romantic options for your reception. It doesn’t matter if you are a wedding party of 2 or a hundred most cruises, restaurants, luaus, and dinner shows will work with you to make it a special experience for you if you let them know in advance that you will be celebrating your wedding reception with them. If you are having quite a few guests, hotels offer a more traditional reception option in their ballrooms. Typically most couples who get married in Hawaii have just a few if any friends or family in attendance due to the expenses involved. A great idea is to have a Hawaiian theme luau reception once you return home so you can share your Hawaii wedding experience while celebrating your marriage with friends and family.

If you plan ahead you can make your dream Hawaiian wedding come true. There is no waiting period to obtain a marriage license. You must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid drivers license, photo id, or passport as proof of identification. A marriage license is $50 and is good for 30 days. The ceremony must be performed by an officiate licensed by the State of Hawaii. For more information on obtaining a marriage license contact the City and County Licensing Office at: Hawaii (Big Island) 808 974-6008, Kauai 808 241-3498, Oahu 808 586-4545, Maui 808 984-8210, Molokai 808 553-3663, Lanai 808 565-6411.

All This and Heaven Too: Why I Believe We Are Blessed To Be a Blessing

If I had been in prison last night, I would have been praying, “O God, please let me get out of prison. Please let me be free once more, to see the beauty of the earth, to walk freely among men, to do a good day’s honest labor!”

But today I have my freedom; I am free to come and go as I please! For me, it’s like a prayer already answered. In some parts of the world today, there are ‘political’ prisoners, in jail for their faith in Jesus Christ. But I’m free; what a blessing!

If I were sick, hurting or dying, my prayer would be, “Dear Jesus, please heal me. Please take away the pain. Touch me and heal me as You did to so many people when You walked the earth.”

But today I am healed. I’m blessed with good health, no pain, and daily strength for living. What a blessing!

If I were poor I’d pray, “O dear God, please couldn’t I have enough money to have a nice house, a nice car, some good clothes and good food to eat? Please, couldn’t You help me to have the skills, to get a job, to earn the money to buy these things? So many people have these things, O God, why can’t I? Why did You give these things to other people and not to me? Why, God, why?”

But I do have money! I do have an education and the background that allows me to go out and get a good job, have a good income, and be able to afford all the nice things in life.

“Why, God? Why did You choose to bless me this way and not someone else?”

Maybe that’s what is meant by: “Unto whom much has been given, of him shall much be required.” I have much, so I have an opportunity and an obligation to do much.

“O God, You’ve allowed me to be steward over all these things, and have Heaven as my eternal home, too! Why have You blessed me this way, when so many other people all over the world want these things with all their heart, but have no way to get them?

“Lord, I guess You’ve made me a steward over all the resources You’ve entrusted to me. I guess You’ve blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others.

“O God, please help me to pray, to seek to know You, and Your will for me. Guide me to know how to use my short life on earth as You would have me to. Soon, Lord, I’ll see You face to face, and I want to hear You say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your master!”

ONLY ONE LIFE, ‘TWILL SOON BE PAST,
ONLY WHAT’S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST!

All these earthly blessings and Heaven, too! Wow, what a great responsibility.

“Lord, please help me be a wise steward and a faithful servant of Yours. Amen.”

Motorola Mobiles with Free Line Rental

Did you know that it is perfectly possible to obtain a cell phone totally free of charge with12 months free line rental? What that means is that you can get a free mobile phone handset with free inclusive minutes and free inclusive text messages without paying a cent for them!Right now you are probably thinking that this is some kind of scam, but no these offers are the real deal! The way to make it work is to take on cell phone retailers at their own game. You have to understand, phone retailers promote free line rental mobiles just to get buyers into the shop. But then they attach lots of strings to the packages to reduce the number of people that take out and correctly order a free line rental offer.Free line rental deals work by buyers order a mobile contract in the normal way, and pay the bill as normal. Then, at pre set intervals within the first 12 months of the mobile contract you need to apply for cash back. At this time the retailer which sold you the cell phone will send you a cheque. Typically around three individual claims need to be made before you get back the total cost of your mobile. Now heres the deal, the retailers make this process pretty awkward, as they ask that you produce phone bills (which maybe misplaced). They also stipulate certain days for the claim (which you may forget) and put in place various other tricks and barriers. This is why you must be clever and beat them at their own game!Fully read the contract, make a note of the dates, keep paperwork safe and put in your claim punctual and you will geta mobile phone cost free for an entire year! The fact is the stores don’t mind throwing away a small number of these mobile handsets free of charge as it is a a good promotion for them. Being in a position to advertize “cost free mobiles” raises the standing of their business, and, as they recognise just a handful of people are likely to get past all the clauses essential to get a 12 months free line rental deal, it doesn’t actually cost them that much money!A 12 months free line rental promotion may not be the best for you as you must be organized and ensure you finish all of the parts of your claim properly, but, a 12 months free line rental mobile is definately something worthy of consideration if you are price aware.

Writing a Press Release about Your Book

Writing a press release about your book is an effective way of doing promotion for your book and expanding your audience base. It is a great idea indeed because a press release allows you to announce to the public that you have a new book. In writing and disseminating a press release, you get to create added publicity, sell more books, and potentially maximize your profit. What better way to create a buzz about your book with the least expense than to circulate a press release? Needless to say, it is too expensive if you’ll be sending copies of your book to target media outlets. Journalists are also too busy to take the time to read entire volumes. Thus, it is much better to send them a press release instead, in order to initially give them an idea of what your book is all about without having to take too much of their time.

It is important to note though that your press release must be directed to the right journalists or editors, particularly to book review editors. If the media notices your press release, chances are, they would get in touch with you and may even schedule for an interview, a television appearance on several talk shows. This would be a great opportunity for you to discuss your book and invite people to purchase it.

A press release is a useful medium because you get to reach your target audience and provide them with a short description of your book and other relevant information including the availability of your book and your contact details. Since statistically, not all press releases get noticed, make sure that your press release is a very good one.

Europe’s Ski Areas May Suffer Due to the Much Higher Price of Electricity

Experts have predicted that the European largest 650 skiing alps perhaps will be reduced to 410 by 2049. Marisa Sagese announced that tourism will suffer long before then, not due to a decrease in the amount of snowfall simply due to a worldwide contraction in purchasing power related to the rising cost of crude oil. And what about rising temperatures? Experts have shown that a twofold increase of carbon dioxide levels shall raise ground temperatures by 4 to 6 Celsius. Notwithstanding there are still several open questions. The speed of climate change and the aftermath on local climate. A couple Celsius warming in the last 100 years has not been recorded over the last million yrs. During the conclusion of the glacial epoch 21000 years ago the heating of 5 degrees Celsius was over a period of 6 to 10 thousand yrs. Before that Val Cenis and Savoie were below ice and Chatel would have been as cold as the Arctic.

Thus what does the future hold for mid mountain skiing mountains? Fuel problems will begin to be experienced by 2014 – 17. One half of the economy relies on crude oil and France imports 90 percent. The present total amounts to 5 percent of gross domestic product. Should the price of oil grows as expected that will represent 42 percent of GDP, you can guess the economic downturn. The Alps will witness the cost of agricultural trade goods rising, plant life species will shift thanks to a change in rain patterns. People will move out of the area due to the summer months stifling heat. Hydro power will be a useful source of power on the other hand it’s not clear whether it will be a boon because there will be much less rain, a lot of water in the winter and much less in the summer.

Backup — But Where To?

We all know we have to backup regularly, but those backups files can get huge. Add that to your existing your files and your notebook computer hard drive seems to have shrunk overnight. No matter what size hard drive you have on your notebook computer, space is a premium. Besides, it’s not exactly a good idea to store your backups on the same hard drive since you can’t retrieve it — rather defeats the purpose of backing up don’t you think? So what do you do, what are your options?

Backup to an external hard drive. This is probably the quickest, most cost effective option. You can often get a removable drive on sale or with rebate for a low price too. You can get one with hundreds of Gigabytes of space too. They can be easy to hookup to your notebook computer. However, do remember that they are hard drives and hard drives can fail. You may find the external backup fails before your notebook computer does.

Online backup. This is actually a good idea because physical disasters can happen to your home. And when that happens, you will always have a copy in a place not affected by the disaster. This is why businesses usually have one backup in the premises and one (or more) off premises. The good thing about online backup is, it’s accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. So if your notebook fails when you’re away from home, you can still retrieve your data.

Many of these services are reasonably priced and they provide you with everything you need to get the backups safely transfered. But because your data will be on someone else’s system, choose a reputable company, one who is not only established but takes customer data confidentiality very seriously.

Network attached storage. This would make more sense if you have several computers. They allow you to not only backup several computers’ data into one location but also ability to share or retrieve files from that central area. You can also achieve a similar effect equipping an older computer with a large hard drive and use it just for storage or backup.

Backup to CD or DVD. This is considered the safest for long term data integrity. External drives and network storage can still crash and prone to virusses. CD’s and DVD’s are also inexpensive. But backing up to disks daily is chore as you’ll find yourself having to manually pop in the disks. It becomes even more hard work when you have a lot of files and your backup spans several disks. The other problem with this method is, backup utilities that come with your operating system cannot backup to a CD or DVD drive. So you’ll have to fork out extra cash to buy a third party backup software that will.

No backup solution is one hundred percent and what you choose of course will depend on how you work. If your data is really important to you, try not rely on one backup source. Create two separate sources if you can afford to, just in case.

What is a digital data logger?

A digital data logger is a device used to sample temperature and/or humidity and then store it electronically. It is primarily used as a temperature monitoring device in large freezers and/or stores.

In most cases a digital data logger needs a PC to work with (with notable exception of ThermaViewer, that can work all by itself).

Important factors

When you decide to buy a digital data logger, you need to think about a few things first. As there are many data loggers available, choosing the one that will meet all your expectations can be a daunting task. Before you go shopping for your digital data logger you consider the questions below.

How much data do you want to collect?

Are you going to monitor temperature for a few days, or will this installation be more permanent and collecting temperatures over months and years?

Where will it be placed?

Placement is a very important consideration when you buy a digital data logger, as this has a great impact on the digital data logger properties. For example, if it’s going to be used for temperature monitoring in the freezer, you will need a digital data logger that uses remote sensors. You surely won’t be opening the freezer all the time only to check the temperature. On the other hand if you need to monitor the room temperature, remote sensors will be only a nice add-on.

What do you need it for?

Do you need temperature monitoring as a safety factor that will turn on the alarm when the temperature is too high or too low? Is it going to be a helpful, but non-vital gadget in your server room? Answers to these questions will tell you a lot about which digital data logger you should buy.
