Oak Furniture Solutions is committed to sourcing reclaimed, environmentally friendly, fair trade or ethically produced products wherever possible. Oak Furniture Solutions are proud to announce the arrival of a new collection of Ecofurn bedroom furniture manufactured from rubberwood from sustainable sources of high quality hardwood.
Not only is rubberwood, strong, flexible and very durable its also has a dense grain that makes the furniture look beautiful in any home setting. The timber used is easily controlled in the kiln drying process and indeed rubberwood, compared to other hardwoods, has very little shrinkage making it one of the more stable timbers available for furniture manufacturing.
We are excited about the release of this new range bedroom furniture range given that rubberwood is also one of the most ecologically friendly timber used in today’s furniture industry.
After the economic life of the rubber tree, which with our bedroom furniture is 15 years, the latex yields from the tree become extremely low. In the past when the rubber tree reached the end stage of it’s productive life as a latex source, it would be felled and burned on the spot or chopped up for firewood to make way for a new tree – but the wood is now being used extensively in furniture which includes our new ranges of furniture the EcoFurn Bedroom range.
