Solutions to Some Questions that You May Have about Your Specs
QUESTION : Will putting on eyeglasses sabotage or strengthen my eyes?
Response : There are no enduring effects on your Optic vision, either good or bad, that will result from the wearing specs. They simply correct Optical defects as long as you wear your specs. You will, obviously, be able to see more easily whilst you are wearing your specs.
Query : If I have faultless vision, surely this means I do not need specs?
Response : Actually, young people that are very longsighted are able to correct their long distance vision using their intra-ocular muscles. The constant use of these muscles for other than their intended function may cause eye fatigue, eye-strain, and headaches, especially while they are reading. spectacles will alleviate the symptoms and allow good vision without taxing those muscles.
Query : Will my vision be damaged through the use of incorrectly prescribed specs?
Resolution : Although this is not advised, it is unlikely that you will cause any long-term damage by wearing poorly prescribed spectacles. You will tend to develop eyestrain from wearing poorly prescribed eyeglasses, which will tend to give you problems of dizziness and headaches.
QUESTION : Will tinted contacts hurts my eyes?
Resolution : Tinted lenses can be worn if you enjoy the cosmetic effect or want to shield your eyes from glare or bright sunlight.
QUESTION : Will reading a lot hurts my eyes?
ANSWER : You will not cause any damage to your eyes by reading a lot. You can’t cause Optic errors through your actions-they are the result of intra-ocular problems. People who read a lot may be more aware of Optic symptoms of headaches and eye-strain, which will give them a greater motivation to correct their problem with specs. However, the reading does not cause an Optic problem.
