Oh, the fratboy poker player. They never really get old, do they? Beer drinking dudes who have come down from their frathouse for the weekend to blow off some steam and play some cards. Though a decent amount of the time these guys will have played their share of time at the table, maybe even watched some poker on TV or read some poker books, most of the time these guys are just in it for the thrill of the game, and might be often spending family money on the event. It probably doesn’t matter if they lose.

For this reason, then, frat boys will often be much looser than your average bear. They will play more pots with weaker hands, and may try more aggressively to bluff you when you act weak. They are probably easier to win a big pot off than most other types of online poker players, simply because they are loose and often have money.

All that said, many times some of the best young players on the market can look like college kids. Think about all the top young players playing poker online and TV circuits, and they look like they could have just stumbled out of bed. Be wary, let patterns evolve, then make your move.
